The main purpose of the role is to give routine guidance on Recruitment policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, Police Regulations, and the Online Recruitment Portal in line with Recruitment activity.

To ensure the recruitment process is delivered in accordance with recruitment strategy.

To provide a customer focussed HR recruitment Service through HR recruitment process.

Main Responsibilities:

To provide guidance and support with routine recruitment escalating more complex issues to the HR Coordinator.

To process and resources for recruitment vacancies covering all aspects of Recruitment activities, ensuring accurate records and timescales are maintained.

To input and maintain information in to electronic and manual systems including Online recruitment Portal and other associated systems.

To input, maintain data and retrieve management information/HR recruitment weekly/monthly statistics.

To support in the training and development of other HR Assistants including apprentices, work experience and volunteers.

To highlight service improvements and propose changes to business recruitment processes.

To produce and distribute Employment contracts and variations in a timely manner.

To promote the use of the People Services intranet site, process maps and the online recruitment portal facility.

To work collaboratively with other HR colleagues to ensure the delivery of innovative, timely and cost effective recruitment management policies, procedures and practices which support the achievement of organisational aims and objectives.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, including cover for colleagues, as required. This will include deployment as necessary to meet the needs of the Force and may include opportunities to be rotated for personal development.

Experience/Skills:

5 GCSEs, Grades A-C or equivalent including Maths and English.

Experience of dealing with recruitment processes.

Experience of retrieving statistical information.

Experience of working as part of a team in a customer service environment.

Good IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Good verbal communication skills.

Ability to work to tight deadlines.

Ability to deliver customer service within a team environment.

Ability to enter information accurately using appropriate IT systems.

Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
