Patrol Unit Administration Support Volunteers - Worcester



Main responsibilities:  

To volunteer alongside the patrol unit based at Worcester Police Station and to provide an administration support to the officers and to up-date computerized systmes accordingly.


As many or as few of these tasks can be undertaken by the Police Support Volunteer to support the area/department.  Minor variations of these responsibilities is acceptable.

 


  • At the direction of  the Patrol Inspector work with the Officer In Charge to carry out the  pre-defined specific desk and telephone tasks
  • Update various databases accordingly.
  • Provide an administration support
  • Use of Social Media in real time to update public re: ongoing incidents eg. Road Closures
  • Phone calls e.g. to hospitals, care homes or as directed.
  • Assist officers in making courtesy / reassurance calls to low level victims of crime inc Anti Social Behaviour Call Backs.
  • Assisting in packaging of lost/seized property
  • Quality Checks for Victim Care on behalf on Patrol Inspector
  • Assisting Patrol Sgt & Insp with any tasks occurring throughout shift.
  • Liaison with other departments
  • Photocopying and preparing duplicate remand files
  • Access Duty Sheet and ensure own working hours and contact details are kept up to date.
  • Monitor own Email in accordance with force policy and respond appropriately

 


 

Requirements/Skills:


  • Experience in administrative/organisational procedures.
  • Good IT skills (Word and Outlook).
  • A basic level of written skills
  • Good clear communicator
  • Positive and welcoming interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of Data Protection and the need for confidentiality

 


Special Conditions


  • Subject to Police Vetting procedures
  • Will undertake a one day induction course at Hindlip Hall, Worcester.
  • Will undertake any other bespoke training courses that are required.
