Police Officer

Detective Constables

Constable
Full Time

In an ever changing world where each day brings fresh challenges and complexity, the need for qualified specialist investigators has never been greater. As a successful detective constable, why should you consider progressing your career with Warwickshire Police?

Warwickshire may be one of the smallest forces in the country, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be missing out. As part of a single, dedicated team of detectives working across the county, you’ll quickly find that no two days are the same. Our detectives have the opportunity to be involved in all types of serious and complex crime investigation. From tackling organised crime groups to protecting the most vulnerable, our detectives are tasked with investigations where the threat, harm and risk are greatest and their expertise can be fully utilised.

Our size is also our advantage; meaning that we have a strong family ethos, where our friendly teams work closely together to get the job done and where you will be treated as a valued member of the team from day one. Through our strategic alliance with West Mercia Police, you also have access to specialist advice, teams and resources when required, providing further opportunities for you to develop and progress both your investigations and your career!

Our investigation hubs in Nuneaton and Rugby (North Warwickshire) and Leamington (South Warwickshire) provide modern, comfortable workspaces and continuing investment in mobile data technology means that all of our detectives are issued with smart phones and laptops. These provide live access to force systems while out of the office, enabling our teams to focus on what matters most – their investigations.

We expect a lot from our detectives, but the rewards are good too. Depending on the role, our shift patterns are either 6 days on, 4 days off, or based around Monday to Friday with limited weekend working. Warwickshire has invested heavily in the health and wellbeing of our workforce who all have access to modern gym facilities, a comprehensive 24/7 confidential support service and access to flexible working options. In addition, there are active sports and social club and numerous support groups open to all.

Warwickshire is also a great place to live. There is a wide variety of towns and villages surrounded by beautiful rural landscapes. With good transport links and easy access to Birmingham and London, there is no shortage of leisure amenities and attractions. From Shakespeare’s Stratford and Warwick Castle to the home of Rugby Football and sprawling country parks, there is something for everyone.

Whatever the reason for transferring, Warwickshire Police can offer you a unique, challenging and rewarding career opportunity where you really can make a difference.
